Federal University Otuoke matriculates students February

Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State, one of the nine new federal universities is to hold its maiden matriculation on February 16, 2013.
Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i, disclosed this after inspecting facilities in the institution on Friday.
Rufa’i said the fast pace of development in all the newly established universities is an indication of government’s determination to make them 21st century citadels of learning.
Interacting with some of the students, she enjoined them to take advantage of the conducive learning environment to acquire the relevant skills and knowledge that would aid them to contribute to the development of the immediate community and the nation at large.
During a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Gboribiogha John Jonah, at Government House, Yenagoa, the minister commiserated with the government and people of the state on the recent flood disaster that ravaged the state.
