Nuhu Bamalli Poly suffers high staff exodus - Rector

The Rector of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria, Adamu Aliyu Shika has said the polytechnic is facing a challenge of high staff turnover because of poor salaries paid by the state government.
He mentioned this in an interview in Kaduna after defending his budget at the state house of assembly.
“There is a difference in salary between the institution and its other counterparts including polytechnics and Colleges of Education. Presently, the state government is paying only 80% of the salary and this is why our lecturers are leaving,” he lamented.
He called on the state government and state assembly to add the remaining 20% of the salaries and replace staff whom have left.
The Rector also said that the polytechnic’s area of concentration this year is to ensure that National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) approve their programmes.
