Group faults Kano govt on motorcycles
Category: News Written by Halima Musa, Kano
The Kano Civil Society Forum said yesterday that the suspension of motorcycles operation by the Kano State government will inflict suffering on the masses.
The forum in a statement signed by its chairman, Mallam Bala Abdullahi and its secretary, Comrade Nasiu Kura, said though it condemns the use of any instrument to breach peace and security in the state, it has its reservation on the recent government pronouncement suspending motorcycles from carrying passengers. It added that there was a need for government to invest and encourage private sector participation in the transport section and that government should also create jobs for those affected by the ban.
