Ogun to publish payable taxes

Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun said yesterday that all taxes payable in the state will soon be published, as according to him, “the era of throwing spikes on the roads to collect such is over.”
The governor, who spoke at a breakfast session with business men in the state, said the payment of taxes will be automated.
“We are going to publish all that is expected to pay as tax for the state and local governments. We are going to synchronize and harmonize all of these taxes. It is going to be automated, so there will be no problem of any ministry or agencies coming to harass you. You already know what to pay, no need of throwing spikes or banging on your doors to collect tax anymore,” he said.
Amosun also urged his wife to use her pet project to support the government in that regard.
“Like for instance, the Papalanto road is a federal road, but we cannot just wait.  We can build the road and collect toll. You are going to benefit, government will benefit and the people will surely benefit too,” he said.
The governor further stated that the weekly religious activities along the Lagos-Ibadan road were giving him cause for concern.
“As we bear the brunt every week by clearing the road, our companies in this zone can assist by taking up the wastes and converting them for use,” he said.
