“We have been devastated in very significant ways by the Boko Haram insurgency. Many of our people have been displaced and their livelihoods lost. No one can begin to imagine the extent of our suffering. Unfortunately the outgoing PDP-led federal government did virtually nothing to alleviate the suffering of our people”, Gaidam said.The governor spoke yesterday when the people of Yobe Zone C, comprising six of the 17 local government areas of the State, visited him to express appreciation for his support which led the APC to win the elections in the area.The APC had won the senatorial as well as two House of Representatives seats from Yobe Zone C. The APC also won at the presidential level in the Zone.Governor Gaidam said the APC at the State and federal levels would work to improve the living conditions of the people.He called on the people of Yobe Zone C and all people of the state to go out en masse and elect the APC during the forthcoming governorship and state assembly elections. The governor also commended Senator Ahmad Lawal, who was re-elected under the APC from Yobe Zone C, for his work on behalf of Yobe people at the National Assembly.
