Corruption: Tambuwal accuses FG of selective justice

Speaker of the House of Representatives Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has accused the federal government of selective justice in its fight against corruption.

The speaker spoke yesterday during the plenary session on a motion calling for the dismissal, arrest and prosecution of the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform Mr. Abdurasheed Maina.

He said “we won’t be fighting corruption in isolation of some people through selective processes. Whatever Maina represents we cannot pretend to be fighting corruption yet we are condoning corruption.”

“Every available fact here is against him, those of us in high places must not be seen to be condoning corruption or we will be seen to be paying lip-service to the fight against corruption,” he said.

The lawmakers unanimously adopted a motion calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to immediately dismiss Maina from public service.
