Six persons killed in Benue clash
Category: News
Six persons were yesterday killed while 10 houses razed down as a result of violent clash between political thugs in the Kastina-Ala area of Benue state.
Police spokesman, Daniel Ezeala said the disagreement between the political thugs occurred on Monday evening and degenerated to a free for all leading to the death of one of the factional leader.
“But, in a reprisal attack early this morning (yesterday), five other persons were hacked to death with 10 houses reportedly burnt to ashes,” he said.
He added that the chaotic situation occasioned by the display of violence in the commercial town of Kastina-Ala has been brought to order with the intervention of security men.
The spokesperson said that investigation was in progress to ascertain the actual cause of the violent clash just as security has been beefed up in the area to prevent further lawlessness.
