Girls lead 287 others in FCT essay competition

Two young girls emerged winners in the maiden edition of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory essay competition for the senior and junior secondary school category carting away cash prizes, laptops and plaques.
Eighteen year old Loretta Mogbolu from Government Comprehensive Secondary School Bwari won the Senior Secondary School category with an essay titled: “Abuja: The Capital of Our Dream” and was presented a laptop, N50,000 cash reward, a plaque and certificate of award by the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed.
Suur Mciaga-Tsavsar from the Redeemer’s Private Secondary School won the Junior Secondary School category and was presented the cash prize of N30,000, a laptop, plaque and certificate from the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory discussing the: “The People of Abuja” in her essay.
The winners emerged out of 287 entries from 83 schools in the Federal Capital Territory relegating their male colleagues to the third positions in the competition.
