EFCC arraigns coy director for allegedly misappropriating N7.2m

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) yesterday arraigned the Executive Director of Admiral Agricultural and Environmental Care, Kaduna, Mr. Shedrack Madlion, before a Kaduna State High Court for allegedly misappropriating  N7.2 million.
Admiral Agricultural and Environmental care is a Kaduna agro-based company owned by Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako.
EFCC arraigned Mr. Madlion on two count charge of dishonestly misappropriating the sum of N3.5 million and N3.7 million belonging to one Dr. Umar Musa Mustapha.
The court was told that the amount totalling N7.2 million was given to Madlion by Dr. Mustapha in 2008 for the purchase of bulls.
The court heard that the accused misappropriated the amount, an act punishable under Section 309 of the Penal Code. After the charges were read to him, Madlion pleaded not guilty.
Counsel to the accused, Barrister Ik Anyalewechi, applied for the bail of his client, saying he has been in EFCC custody for over a week.
But counsel to the EFCC, Barrister Mohammad B. Buhari, objected to the bail on the ground that the application was served him last Wednesday.
Justice Mohammad Aliyu adjourned the case to Feb. 26th, after ordering that the accused be remanded in prison custody.
