Merger of opposition parties can’t defeat PDP - Rep Bashir
Category: Inside politics Written by Abdullahi Anako,Dutse
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member representing Kazaure-Yankwashi-Roni Federal constituency in the House of representatives, Alhaji Bashir Adamu said the proposed merger of opposition parties in the country cannot defeat the PDP.
Adamu made the comment while fielding questions from journalists in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.
He said while he agreed no country can flourish without a credible opposition, the PDP has become a national party that is rooted across the country and it would be difficult for the merger of the opposition to defeat the party even if all opposition parties were to come together.
He said the current PDP internal crisis would strengthen the party adding that the disagreement among the party stalwarts was healthy for democracy pointing out that the party would come out stronger.
