Abia Labour Party says party merger was inevitable

Against  the backdrop  of the recent move by opposition party to wrest power from the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia State Sir Stanley Ohajurukwe  said  the LP in  Abia is fully in support of the merger initiative by opposition political parties in the country.
Ohajuruka in a statement in Umuahia said the idea shoul not only be commended but supported by Nigerians who over the years have been yearning for the positive development of the country.
He said “Several years of PDP dominance of the political space in Nigeria and Abia State, the economy has remained inactive as no meaningful achievement has been recorded in all sectors of the economy”
Ohajurukwe regretted that in the country corruption and lack of accountability has remained the bane of the country’s democracy
The former member of House of Representative maintained that with the emergence of  All Progressive Congress, the terminal point of PDP has reached.
He said, “Here is a political party with 12 serving governors, national spread, sincere and patriotic progressive leaders with the common goal of salvaging our nation from collapse” and enjoined Abians to remain calm and tolerant in their desire for change in the state in 2015.
