‘’Reaching the three 3milion will ensure that TB is stopped or eradicated in our future time. It must be eradicated and the time to act is now. It challenges us to look at the fight against TB in an entirely new way. According to Prof. Etete Peters who is also the Chief Medical Director of the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, the Nigerian Thoracic Society is working and collaborating with major stakeholders in order to ensure universal access to TB care. The organization he further said has been involved in community mobilization and public education on various diseases including TB AS well as going from one school to another creating awareness and dispelling rumour and myths about the disease through visits and radio program, capacity building. The professor who is worried that the disease has been compounded by the presence of muti-drugs resistance and recently the extensively Drug resistance TB, called on patients with cough of more 2 to three weeks, chest pain and noisy breathing etc to report to the nearest health facility for treatment.
