Yakowa donates N2.5m to Muslim women group

Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State has donated N2.5 million to the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association in Nigeria ( FOMWAN). The donation was made at the associations Ramadan lecture and fund raising for a skills acquisition centre in Kaduna. Represented by his wife, Amina Yakowa, the governor noted that the activities of the group have assisted the state government in ensuring peace, unity and development in the state. “I want to appreciate your efforts in ensuring peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, and I urge all women in the country to give the association all the necessary support”, he said.The Amira of FOMWAN, Hajia Saudatu Nuhu Maiwada, said the launch was to raise funds to execute an ultra modern skills acquisition centre and schools project embarked upon by the association.
