Hajj: NAHCONcautions air carriers against failure

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has threatened to disqualify Hajj carriers that fail to deliver effective services during this year’s Umrah and Hajj operations.

The Chairman of the commission, Muhammad Musa Bello, gave the warning Friday at the stakeholders’ meeting with approved carries for the 2012 Hajj and Umrah operations.

Bello said defaulters would be suspended and their operational licence would also be revoked.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Harold Demuren, said the meeting was necessary to ensure safety of the 60,000 Nigerians billed for lesser Hajj and 95,000 for Hajj.

Speaking, presidential aide on aviation Capt. Shehu Iyal said Nigeria has the capacity for successful Hajj operations.
