From a reporter, editor, Presidential media aide to a publisher, Gbenga Adeshina’s passion for the press still reverberates.
The former old Daily Times politics editor told Daily Trust on Sunday that even as Editor-in-Chief and Publisher, he still reports for his publication “Distinguished” magazine.
Ten years into the publication, Adeshina said the magazine’s main concern is to celebrate achievements of the country. “It is not only Boko Haram and corruption as there are lots of good things and attributes from Nigeria for the world to celebrate,” he said.
Adeshina pointed out that to mark ten years anniversary of the magazine, a newspaper, “DN News” will be launched at an award programme where ten prominent Nigerians will be honoured on August 4. Among those to be honoured are governors of Anambra, Delta and Kwara states. At the event, Professor Sam Oyovbaire will deliver a lecture “Media and the Nigerian nation” while Executive Directive, Bank of Industry Waheed Olagunju will talk on “Youth unemployment and accessibility of loans.”
