The Primate of the Church of Thy Lord (Prayer Fellowship) worldwide, Most Rev Rufus Ositelu has stressed the importance of peace for sustainable development.
In a statement yesterday in Abuja by Rev Mrs Adedoyin Badejo, made available to Daily Trust, the Primate emphasized that there can’t be sustainable development without peace.
He was quoted as making the remark on the occasion of the Tabieorar 2017 celebration in Ogere-Remo, Ogun State.
Ositelu decried the high rate of wanton destruction of lives and property, senseless killings of innocent citizens, kidnapping and burning down of churches and mosques.
According to him, life is divine and precious and no one has the right to terminate it with impunity.
He then called for the need to beef up security and advised the Federal Government to also consider the use of State Police.
On the economy, the Primate urged the government to diversify the economy especially in the areas of agriculture, mineral resources and manufacturing.
