The police in Oyo State have paraded fifteen suspected kidnappers who were alleged to have abducted officials of the West African Examination Council (WAEC).

The State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude said the suspects confessed to be working for one Kire, a notorious armed robbery kingpin in the state.

He said the suspects are currently assisting the police in their investigation with a view to tracking other members of the criminal gang currently at large and recover other sophisticated weapons still in their armoury.

Among the ammunition allegedly recovered from them were four locally made single barrel guns, three long cutlasses, seven mobile phones, a sum of sixty seven thousand naira, and a Bajaj Boxer

“The leader of the kidnappers, Mohammed Kote (25) and one Kire Babuga (20) were arrested in their criminal hideout along Kishi/Igboho and inside the Old Oyo National Park, Igbeti where they used as cover to carry out their nefarious activities,” Odude said.

Thirteen other suspects were paraded for several crimes including a dismissed cop, said to be 40-years-old and mother of two, who was alleged to be parading herself on police uniform and extorting unsuspecting members of the public.
