A magistrate’s court in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, has sentenced a 35-year-old woman, Nafisat Raji, to six months imprisonment for stealing a phone.
The prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the lady stole a Techno Y6 mobile phone property of one Deborah Akindele, valued at N14,500 at Fayemi Street, Osogbo.
Oladoye said Raji also stole one HP Pavilion laptop valued at N45,000 belonging to one Mubarak Olaboopo on August 30, 2017 at Akeju Street, opposite the Government Technical College in Osogbo.
Raji, weeping profusely in the dock, pleaded guilty to the charges preferred against her, with her counsel, Mr Nagite Okobe, begging the court to be lenient with her.
In her judgement, Magistrate Adenike Olowolagba convicted Raji and sent her to prison for six months imprisonment, but with an option of fine of N3,000.
