Over 50 primary and secondary healthcare facilities in two local government areas of Bauchi State will benefit from the World Bank funded Nigerian States Health Investment Project (NSHIP).
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Information Officer of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA), Suleiman Alhassan Dambam.
The statement quoted the Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Health, Dr. Saidu Aliyu Gital, as saying that selection of the health facilities was based on merit.
Gital, who was represented by the Director, Planning and Statistics, Dr. Dayyabu Mohammad Hassan, urged facility managers to effectively utilise the opportunity given them in ensuring the success of the programme.
The state NSHIP Project Coordinator, Dr. Adamu Muhammad, said the aim of the meeting was to present the data mapped for validation and to ascertain the mapping of the health facilities whether it was conducted objectively.
Dr. Muhammad said the selection of the health facilities was based on the criteria given them by the World Bank.
