Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun yesterday presented N345.42 billion 2018 budget proposal to the state House of Assembly.
The 2018 appropriation bill is N124.33 billion higher than the 2017 budget of N221.09bn.
The education sector got N79.25b, or 22 per cent of the total estimate.
The bill was presented to lawmakers at the Chambers of Ogun State House of Assembly, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Breakdown of the budget shows N223.721bn for capital expenditure, N121bn for recurrent expenditure, N81.869bn for total personal cost, N68.369bn for salaries and allowances, N13.50bn for pension and gratuity and N39.829bn for overhead cost.
Other sectoral allocations include health, N21.99bn, agriculture N21.137bn, housing and urban renewal N45.733bn, rural and infrastructural development N73bn.
The governor said the 2018 appropriation reflected on his administration’s resolve to achieve its campaign promises by embarking on new projects and completing ongoing ones.
Speaker Suraj Adekunbi, said the legislature was committed to the passage of laws and resolutions that would continue to facilitate delivery of services for improved quality of life for the people.
