The All Progressives Congress (APC) may likely hold its national convention in Lagos.
Party sources told Daily Trust yesterday that the national convention would hold in Lagos despite opposition from some key stakeholders who had expressed fears that their interests might not be fully protected if it was held outside Abuja.
“Lagos remains the venue of the convention despite reservations from some party members. It has been agreed upon. Those who can play pranks are being monitored,” a source said.
Last Sunday, the party leadership released a list of a 68-member national convention committee headed by Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State.
The full list of the committee released in a statement signed by the APC National Organising Secretary has Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State as deputy chairman, while Sen. Ben Uwajumogu will serve as member and secretary.
The APC in a release yesterday by its National Organising Secretary, Sen. Osita Izunaso, confirmed the exclusive report by the Daily Trust that the convention would hold on May 14.
