Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola has approved the refund of a sum of thirteen thousand, five hundred naira to each of the 2016 hajj pilgrims from the State for the services they paid for that were not rendered to them during hajj exercise.
The Amir-Hajj in the state, Alhaji Zikrullahi Olakunle Hassan disclosed this in Osogbo, capital of Osun State on Thursday.
He explained that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) had met with the Saudi Authority over the services they could not render in 2016 hajj exercise and has therefore received the money for services not rendered for onward refund to the pilgrims who participated in the hajj exercise .
He said the Osun State Pilgrims Boars has concluded arrangement to make the payments to the pilgrims immediately as soon as they provide their details
The Amir-Hajj lauded the Governor for the prompt approval of the payment of the refund and also commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria which facilitated the release of the refund from the relevant Saudi Arabia agencies.
