The Director-General, Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, Lagos, Mrs Cecilia U. Gayya, has advised participants of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) programme and other young Africans to work tirelessly towards creating impact that will lead to sustainable development in Africa.

She gave the advice while receiving the participants who paid her a courtesy in her office.

The 115 young African leaders were selected for the West African equivalence of the YALI programme.

The US Government in a bid to inculcate the right quality of leadership in the next generation of African leaders launched the YALI programme with Regional Leadership Centers (RLC) across Africa.

The West African RLC has trained over 1, 700 young African leaders from West Africa. 

According to her, even though there may be challenges, young African leaders should stand together, be stronger and not let the challenges make them deviate from the core purpose which is to build good leaders for Africa.
