Against the backdrop of bandits ‘attacks, Chairman, Northern Senators Forum, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has said efforts will be intensified to secure the lives and property of Nigerians, and uphold the sanctity of human lives.

The senator stated this when he visited the Internally Displaced Persons camp at Gandi, where he donated cash and relief materials including 1,000 bags of 10kgs of rice, 500 wrappers, 100 cartons of toilet soap and ointment, to the victims of the Tabanni killings in Rabah Local Government of Sokoto State.

Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, added: “The dastardly killings of the innocent deceased persons are unfortunate, unjust and wanton.”

He commended Sokoto government, the state Zakkat and Endowment Commission, the District Head of Gandi and other agencies, for their efforts to provide the welfare and security needs of the victims at the camp.

The District Head of Gandi, Alhaji Maccido Yarin Gandi, expressed appreciation to Senator Wamakko for his support to the welfare of the displaced persons.

In a remark, Chairman of the Committee set up by the state government on the IDPs, Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji Gusau assured that adequate measures had been taken towards the welfare of victims.
