Members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ( ASUP) at Bauchi State College of Agriculture have embarked on an indefinite strike.
The order to embark on the strike was contained in a letter signed by ASUP chairman of the college, Comrade Mohammed Bununu, dated 21st September,2017.
He called on members of the union to immediately embark on the strike Friday 22nd December,2017 to press home their demands.
The letter reads: “ Members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics ( ASUP) Bauchi State College of Agriculture Chapter are hereby directed to resume it’s suspended local strike. The decision to resume the suspended industrial action followed the release of the committee’s report set up by the College Governing Council to look into the series of allegations leveled against the principal officers of the College.”
The union alleged that the report of the committee did not meet its expectations as it was partial, contradictory and passionate towards the people allegedly behind the college’s problems.
