The Borno State government has concluded arrangements to return the state to the National Housing Fund Scheme (NHF) in a move to solve the housing problems facing the state.

Borno State Governor,  Kashim Shettima, stated this when the Executive Management Team of Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) paid him a courtesy visit in Maiduguri, the state capital.

The governor expressed happiness with the management of the bank for its untiring efforts at solving the housing problem and showing interest to assist the state.

He commended the leadership of the Organised Labour for their support and maturity towards the return of the state to the NHF which he said would afford the state to enjoy the benefits provided by the scheme in the area of housing finance.

The governor further disclosed that the state government, along with the Organised Labour, would soon meet to work out modalities on how NHF contributors in the state could benefit from services offered by the FMBN.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of FMBN, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, commended the state government for bringing back the state to the NHF scheme.

He assured the governor of the bank’s continuous support to the state and advised residents to take advantage of the FMBN’s Home Renovation Loan to reconstruct their houses destroyed by the insurgency.
