An FCT High Court in Gudu yesterday ordered the remand of two men for allegedly defrauding their employer of the sum of N15 million.
The defendants, Mohammed Aliyu, 42, and Isiaka Abubakar, 33, both of them staff of Manipat Holdings Ltd, were docked on a 19-count charge, bordering on criminal breach of trust, forgery and fraud.
The prosecuting counsel, Barrister Patrick Omah, told the court that sometime in February and September 2017, while in the employment of Manipat Holdings Ltd, the two conspired and stole N15 million belonging to their employer.
The prosecutor said the crime was committed through forging of the company’s documents.
The two defendants, however, denied committing the offences when the charge was read to them.
An oral application for bail by their counsel was rejected by the trial judge, Justice Adebukola Banjoko, who ordered their remand in prison and adjourned the case to Feb. 12 for hearing.
