A video of dancers posted by Twitter user Hamza Mubarak @hamza_lml has since garnered over 24,000 likes, about 10,000 retweets and almost a thousand comments.

Hamza in the tweet thread said the dancing took place in Jerusalem, Palestine.

The two minute plus video seems to be a favorite of people as it shows another narrative of the middle eastern country.

Several people including Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey retweed it.

“I love to see Palestinians dancing and having fun. Good &positive stories deserve to go viral as well" Jenan Moussa wrote.

“We want to see Palestinian people happy and free every time” says another twitter user

The dancing in the video appears to be a street Dabke.

According to a wikepedia entry Dabke is an Arab folk dance native to the Levant.

Dabke combines circle dance and line dancing and is widely performed at weddings and other joyous occasions.

The line forms from right to left. The leader of the dabke heads the line, alternating between facing the audience and the other dancers.
