Concerned elders and youths of Dass in Bauchi South Senatorial District have petitioned the leadership of the Senate over alleged usurpation of a bill  for the establishment of College of Education in Dass that was sponsored by the late  Senator Ali Wakili.

Spokesman for the group, Alhaji Abdullahi Lawal (Sarki Jakadu Dass), told journalists in Abuja at the weekend that the late Senator Wakili initiated the bill which went through second reading and public hearing before his death.

Jakadu Dass said it was surprising for the same bill to now resurface with Senator Isah Misau being the sponsor and now asking for the same college of education to be sited in Misau.

Lawal recalled that as a mark of honour, when the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was on a condolence visit to the family of the late senator, he had assured that all the bills and works of late Wakili would be followed to their logical conclusion in his honour.

The group, therefore, urged the leadership of the Senate and all senators to rise and defend the original bill in the spirit of fairness and comradeship.
