A thirty year old driver and father of three is now cooling off his heels behind police bars in Akure, the Ondo state capital for allegedly robbing and  raping a university undergraduate passanger.

 
The suspect Yusuf Waheed who hails from Iwo in Osun state was arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun state last week with his operating vehicle, a Sharon space bus with registration number KTU 989 CE.
 
According to the spokesman for the Ondo state police command Femi Joseph, the suspect had picked eight passangers at Agbogbo area of Akuer going to Ile-ife  that fateful day and the victim was one of them.
 
Joseph said other passanger  alighted at various destinations especially at Ilesa  and the victim was left in the vehicle with the driver.
 
He suddenly drove her inside the bush, brought out a knife and robbed her of her infinix handset,huawei Ipad cash and other valuable items and disappeared into thin air.  By this time it was almost 8pm.
 
The PRO said the suspect was later traced to Abeokuta where he was arrested by detectives from the command.
 
One infinix handset belonging to the victim was recovered from him. also during a search in his house, a flash drive belonging to the victims was recovered, said Joseph.
 
The suspect who claimed to be a father of three and married to two wives told Daily Trust that if such a thing is done to his daughter, he will not take it easy.
 
He said he had come to drop some load in Akure that fateful day from Abeokuta and decided to carry passangers on his way back.
 
The suspect who attributed his action to spells and curses from Abeokuta said the vehicle does not belong to him as he only work for the owner.
 
He said his last daughter now under one year of age is in nursery  school in Abuja  and he does not pray that such should happen to  her.
 
Joseph said the suspect would be charged to court this week.
