The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has honored a total of 72 corps members from 2013 batch C to 2016 batch A with the sum of one hundred thousand Naira and two hundred thousand Naira each in a total of Nine million, Eight hundred thousand Naira for their outstanding performance during their service year.
Speaking on Thursday during the 2018 FCT NYSC award in Abuja, the FCT minister, Alhaji Muhammad Bello who was represented by FCT education Secretary, Senator Isa Maina said the criteria of selecting the awardees were based on their drive, determination, initiative, resourcefulness, leadership traits, discipline and team work.
He said there was no reason for the Ministry to give excuses based on the limited resources not to honor the deserving corps members hence urged them to be prudent with the resources given to them and aim higher for greater responsibilities.
He urged the corps members to be creative and innovative in order to be self reliant hence commended the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for the Skills Acquisition Entrepreneurial Development (SAED) initiative introduce to equip corps members to be self reliant.
