The Senate Committee on Petroleum (downstream) has invited the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (GMD), Maikanti Baru and other stakeholders over the lingering fuel shortage in the country.
The officials are to appear before the committee on Thursday to explain measures so far taken to end the scarcity.
Chairman of the committee, Kabiru Garba Marafa (APC, Zamfara) told newsmen yesterday that the action followed a directive by Senate President Bukola Saraki on the need to end the fuel scarcity.
