The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has promised to support all efforts towards addressing the challenges against the implementation of the Primary Health-Care Under One Roof Policy (PHCUOR).

The policy is a new governance reform initiative designed to unify all Primary Health Care (PHC) structures and programmes at sub-national levels to ensure accountable and efficient service delivery within the framework of a decentralized health system.

Director-General of the Forum, Asishana Okauru made the promise yesterday in Abuja during the conference organized for top officials of healthcare at the state level.

He said the forum was committed to partnering with relevant stakeholders, and providing financial support to address some of the gaps in order to make healthcare accessible to all Nigerians.

The Executive-Secretary, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) Dr Faisal Shuaib said that for many years there was fragmentation in the primary healthcare system in place as well as multiple management structures between the federal government, the state and the local government.
