Workers in Oyo state have deserted offices following a three-day warning strike by the workers.
The state government has responded by declaring a ‘no work no pay’ policy for workers, as it blamed the organized labour for violating labour rule and failing to honour invitation by it to find amicable solution to the industrial dispute.
On their part, the labour unions accused government of peddling tissues of lies to cover its undoing.
Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC) had declared the warning strike following the expiration of a 7-day notice served on the government last week Wednesday.
Not satisfied with the development, the government through a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government ( SSG) , Mr Olalekan Alli enjoined all workers not to stay off duty, as doing so would attract the no-work no-pay rule according to the Trade Dispute Act 2010 Section 43(1)(a).
