Gunmen have abducted the traditional ruler of Jakura town in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Chief Usman Ajibola and killed his son, Rufai.
It was learnt that the royal father’s driver was also killed in the process which happened on Tuesday.
Daily Trust learnt that the incident occurred while the traditional ruler was returning from Oworo town in the state.
The kidnappers were said to have forcefully seized the monarch and his driver; while his son who tried to struggle with them was killed in the process.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, Mr William Ayah confirmed the incident.
He said the monarch and his son were attacked between Imo and Igbonla communities about 15 kilometers to Jakura town.
He said the remains of the monarch’s had been deposited in a morgue.
