Safara a Hausa movie made on the social issue of human trafficking, will soon be released to the market. The movie which is being viewed in cinemas focuses on the menace of human trafficking especially as it happens in northern Nigeria and the aftermath of such illegal act.
Safara is regarded as a pioneer movie geared to redirect the Hausa movie industry’s focus from the traditional love story to addressing social issues in the society.
For many who have watched the movie, the attempt is a welcome development to Kannywood as the movie attempts to address a very crucial social issue bedevilling the society.
According to one of the producers, Alhaji Muhammad Hussain, the reason behind the production is to create awareness on issues that have been causing a lot of damage to the society and are also tarnishing the image of the region as a whole.
“Many of us have been travelling to other states and many of us are not oblivious of the fact that people from this zone are more attuned to begging in virtually all other states and even in faraway other nations.
“However, how many of us have ever stopped to find out how these things happened? Safara is a story that got its crust from a true story and we hope this will mark the beginning of an era where we will be using our movies to address social issues,” said the producer.
The movie shot in various states of the federation has casts like, Aina’u Ade, Ali Nuhu, Abba El-Mustapha, Ladidi Fagge, Jamila Nagudu, Isa Isa among others.
