The Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Mr. Joseph K. Shazin, says he will contest for Abuja South House of Representatives seat in 2019, after due consultations with stakeholders in the zone.
Shazin, stated this while addressing newsmen shortly after he met with the local government executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abaji on Thursday.
He said if he garnered 70 per cent ‘yes’ in opinion poll, he would contest, adding that it was the clamour by people of Abuja South for him to contest that prompted him to embark on consultation with the party executives at the council level.
He said the party executives have thrown their weight behind him, even as he said they were apprehensive about the way they were handled previously by successive House of Representatives members from Abuja South.
The chairman, who later paid a visit to the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, at his palace, said he came to see the traditional ruler to seek for his fatherly advice and blessing on the clarion call by the people of Abuja South asking him to contest. The seat is currently occupied by Dakari Angulu Dobi.
