The Islamic Movement in Nigeria has blamed security agents for the breakdown of law and order during the protest to demand the release of their leader, Sheik Ibrahim Elzakzaky, in Abuja, yesterday.

Spokesman of the movement, Ibrahim Musa, said it was the security agents that started the chaos by firing at unarmed protesters.

Musa who responded to our questions via mail, said the action of the police would however not stop the members of the IMN from demanding the release of their detained leader.

He said, “We vehemently condemn the police attack on the peaceful protest.

It’s the security agents that started all these by firing at unarmed protesters.”
