Every day, newspapers across the country are awash with reports about illicit drugs consumption.  A report released not too long ago showed that young men and women are the highest consumers.  Something urgent needs to be done on this matter because the drugs being consumed are very dangerous to health.

Young men who are engaged in the consumption of the drug sometime delve into crime.  Tackling this menace is a herculean task but I believe that it can be achieved if all hands are on deck.

Government, traditional, religious leaders and parents must rise up to the occasion.  Parents should monitor their children and ensure that any changes noticed are addressed as soon as possible.  Religious leaders should include the issue in their sermons as well.

Also, relevant authourities should make sure that anyone caught with illicit drugs is made to face the full wrath of the law. We have to protect our youths and guide them aright so that they can indeed be the leaders that we desire as a nation
