The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki on Tuesday’s night met with senators from the South Eastern part of the country in a bid to promote national unity following last week clash between members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra and the Nigerian military.
According to his media aide, Bamikole Omisore, Saraki has also scheduled similar meeting with senators from the Northern part of the country for Thursday.
“President of the Senate, @bukolasaraki currently meeting with South East Senators on how to unote the country. To also meet Northern Senators on Thursday,” he said.
Saraki on Monday disclosed that the National Assembly will investigate the crisis that erupted in the South-East following the class between the military and IPOB members.
He urged all Nigerians to maintain peace and show brotherly love.
