Abuja Jabamah, a tourism event by the organisers of the Akwaaba Travel Market Lagos, has been launched in Abuja with a two-day event which ended yesterday.

Speaking at the event which brought together tourism stakeholders from across Africa, brain behind the event, Mr Ikechi Uko, explained that ‘Jamabah’ means welcome in the Fulani language and should be promoted.

He identified tourism as the bedrock to showcase what Nigeria and Africa as a whole would use to lure the world. 

He noted that the margin between which Africans display their culture is different from the way Westerners do to Africans. 

Uko emphasized the use of Facebook and Instagram as platforms via which the Western world exploited their culture to Africa and how much it was embraced. 

Meeting, Incentives, Conference, ExhibitionsEvents (MICE), an initiative to promote meetings, events, conventions and hospitality in Nigeria, was also hosted.
