The Kaduna Polytechnic chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has suspended the strike action it started seven weeks ago.

This followed the resolution of an emergency congress on October 17, 2017. Kadpoly ASUP had commenced the strike over ‘poor working conditions, irregular academic calendar, and routine lack of consumables for laboratory practicals,’ among others.

The strike stopped from completing their first semeter examination.

A circular issued yesterday called on members to immediately resume their normal academic activities. The circular signed by the publicity secretary of the union, Abbas Muhammad, said the suspension was for six months, after which a congress would be reconvened on April 17, 2018 to reassess the memorandum of understanding between the management and the union.
