The Kano Science Schools Old Students’ Association (KASSOSA), class ’93, Dawakin Kudu chapter has celebrated its silver jubilee on Sunday July 1, 2018.
The Chairman, Organizing Committee, Malam Bilya Sani Musa, represented by Taufiq Aminu Yahaya, said the essence of the gathering was to express gratitude to Allah for sparing their lives to witness 25 years after graduation.
He thanked all those that have contributed to the development of the association, saying the class had produced great men who had contributed to the development of the school, the state and the nation in different facets of life, among whom was the former Minister of State, foreign affairs, Dr Nuradden Muhammad.
The Chairman of Dawakin Kudu class ’93, Malam Umar Adamu Rabo, said the class had renovated hostels, supplied drugs to the school clinic and repaired some broken beds as well as donating cash to families of the departed colleagues.
“Today is a great day. Some of our colleagues whom we interacted and shared things in common 25 years ago, have now passed away,” he said.
A former principal of the college, Malam Tijjani Abdullahi, enjoinedn current students of the college to emulate class of 93 in order to promote unity among them.
The national President of KASSOSA, Mustapha Nuhu Wali, represented by the National Secretary of the Association, Alhaji Hassan Abdulhamid Hassan, said plans were underway to supply laboratory equipment and furniture to seven selected science colleges.
Highlights of the event were quiz competition organized for the students of the school and presentation of laboratory equipment to the school by class ’93 as well as award of appreciation to some academic and non-academic staff of the college.
