Kebbi State has concluded training for the first batch of Fulani sent to Lagos and Ibadan on modern method of processing cow milk.

The over 40 trainees from different Fulani settlements, returned to the state after undergoing facility tour and sensitization workshop on modern method of livestock production with emphasis on dairy processing at Friesland Campina Company.

During the training/facility tour they were also exposed to modern milk collection at Fashola Bali Milk Collection Centre and Eseyin Development Centre in Oyo State.  

While receiving the trainees at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu said the exercise was to bring the Fulani milk producers in line with the modern dairy processing.

The permanent secretary in the Ministry of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Dr Usman Umar Dakingari who led the trainees on tour of the milk processing facilities in Lagos and Ibadan, said the training of the Fulani would improve livestock production and dairy processing in Kebbi State.
