Members of the House of Representatives have resolved to move to the Senate for solidarity over the snatching of the Senate mace that happened earlier in the day.
The lawmakers suspended their plenary for 30 minutes to be able to empathize with their Senate colleagues over the incident.
Members of the House, who lamented the development said it was an attack on democracy and a dark day in the history of Nigeria’s democratic journey.
House Leader Femi Gbajabiamila, who moved a motion on the matter, described the mace snatching as the worst thing to have happened to the Nigerian Legislature.
The House is to reconvene at 1.pm.
