A 29-year-old man has been arrested by the police at Ojule village in Ogun State for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.

The suspect, Soji Ogunrinola (aka Bulldozer), was arrested at the weekend, following a complaint by one Monsuru Badmus of Ogiri Ojule village in the same area.

The Police Command spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a release, yesterday, said Badmus, who is the victim’s step-father reported at Odeda Police Station that Ogunrinola forcefully had carnal knowledge of the girl who came for holiday in the village.

“The complainant stated further that the suspect threatened to kill the little girl if she ever tells anybody her predicament, but the mother of the girl noticed blood stains on her clothes which made her to question her daughter on what she noticed.

“The victim explained the whole thing to her mother and the threat of the suspect on her life. The mother who knows the suspect to be a thug in the village alerted her husband and the man quickly reported to the police,” he stated.

Oyeyemi added that on interrogation, the suspect confessed to the commission of the crime while the victim was taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Abeokuta for medical examination.”

He said the Commissioner of Police, (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the case to be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
