A middle aged man who is yet to be identified died after two motorcycles collided on Sunday night on Dangara-Yaba road in Kwali Area Council.
A witness said the incident happened about 8:12p.m. when one of the cyclists coming from Yaba village collided with another coming from the opposite direction, killing one of the riders on the spot.
He said the other cyclist who sustained injuries was trying to avoid a pothole when he crashed into the other, adding that the injured was later taken to hospital by his relatives from Kuka village.
“The other cyclist who sustained injuries was carrying two bags of fertilizer in front of his bike. He was trying to avoid a pothole when he lost control and collided with the other cyclist after the bridge,” he said.
He said the Etsu of Yaba, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, who was on his way to Yaba village, stopped at the scene. The police at Kwali division came later and took away the corpse.
When contacted, the Kwali Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Lambat Dauda, told our reporter via telephone that he received a report of an accident involving two motorcycles that night and directed his men to go to the scene.
“Actually, I received a call on an accident involving two motorcycles, and I asked my men to go there, but as I speak, I am yet to receive the report of the incident, until I get to the office,” he said.
