The police in Lagos have told an Isolo chief magistrates’ court how a 23-year-old man allegedly led his armed robbery gang to rob some patients in a hospital at Ilasamaja area.
The police said the accused, Adekunle Kabiru, and his gang penultimate Wednesday stormed Grace Hospital on Akanro Street in Ilasamaja around 3am and disposed patients in the hospital of their belongings.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah, told the court that the accused attacked and robbed the patients receiving treatment before they went to rob the occupants of other houses within the area.
He said one of the suspects, Adekunle Kabiru, was later arrested by the residents and handed over to the police.
The suspect, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence and the presiding magistrate, Mrs. E. Kobenje, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She however ordered that he be remanded in prison custody pending when he would perfect his bail condition and the matter was adjourned till May 5.
