A member of the House of Representatives from Niger State, Mohammed Umar Bago, has bagged the Transparency in Public Service Award from the Citizens Initiative for Anti-Corruption and Development.

Bago, who chairs the House Committee on Maritime Safety, Education and Administration, is of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and represents Chanchaga Federal Constituency.

Presenting the award in Abuja, the national coordinator of the initiative, James Okoronkwo, said the lawmaker’s selection was in recognition of his efforts at improving revenue generation in the maritime sector through effective oversight.
