A nursing mother, Farila Ali has been arraigned before a Shari’a Court No 2 of Kofar Kudu, Kano for criminal breach of trust and cheating.
 
The offenses are contrary to Sections 197 and 224 of the Penal Code.
 
The prosecutor, Inspector Ahmad Aliyu Imam told the court that one Yasmin Sanusi of Goron Dutse reported to the police that the accused deceived her and collected the sum of N4M from her with intention of investing the money in Britain currency and Swiss Golden, an online business.
 
The nursing mother assured the complainant that she would gain 80% of the total money she invested after the period of six months.
 
The prosecutor told the court that since the accused collected the money, she neither bring any profit nor return the money to the complainant.
 
When the charge sheet was read to the accused, she pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge. However, she admitted collecting the money for business purpose.
 
The accused said the company, where the money was invested, was facing some challenges, but as soon as the company address them, the business would continue.
 
The presiding judge, Hallatul Huza’I Zakariyya granted the accused person bail for being a nursing mother and adjourned the case to 3rd August, 2018.
